Tie-dye!!

I saw this here on Our Best Bites (love, love, love) and have been waiting on Easter to come around to try it. Head on over there for the full tutorial and other yummy things.

First, Start with 100% silk ties (I got mine at the salvation army for 50 cents each)

Now, gut those suckers! Take out the lining and the padding stuff inside!
Next, wrap your egg (not cooked) in the tie with the right side facing the egg.
Tie it as tight as you can (without breaking the egg, of course).
The wrinkles and bubbles will make a lighter pattern (or if it's too loose, it won't show up at all, eek!)

After that, tie on a light weight, light colored cloth.

Put all your wrapped up eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Add 1/4 c of vinegar and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for about 20 minutes (this will make your house smell just fantastic...eggs and vinegar!) Take the eggs out and let them cool down. When they are cool enough to handle, unwrap and see your egg art work!

Now, aren't these just egg-celent!! hehe
