"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" Trailer 1

I alternated between panic attack and hysterical tears during this.

I fully intend on being an emotional wreck during this movie.

A little sack racing....

Hunting some eggs...

A bit of cookie decorating....

And hanging out with our favorite friends!!

Happy Easter!!!

Tie-dye!!

I saw this here on Our Best Bites (love, love, love) and have been waiting on Easter to come around to try it. Head on over there for the full tutorial and other yummy things.

First, Start with 100% silk ties (I got mine at the salvation army for 50 cents each)

Now, gut those suckers! Take out the lining and the padding stuff inside!
Next, wrap your egg (not cooked) in the tie with the right side facing the egg.
Tie it as tight as you can (without breaking the egg, of course).
The wrinkles and bubbles will make a lighter pattern (or if it's too loose, it won't show up at all, eek!)

After that, tie on a light weight, light colored cloth.

Put all your wrapped up eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Add 1/4 c of vinegar and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for about 20 minutes (this will make your house smell just fantastic...eggs and vinegar!) Take the eggs out and let them cool down. When they are cool enough to handle, unwrap and see your egg art work!

Now, aren't these just egg-celent!! hehe

This is getting old.....

I've been sick for almost a week now. I don't like it. My head is constantly throbbing. Now the kiddos are sick. We were in the emergency room last night with Joey. His temp was at 104 and was stuck there for hours. Turns out.....he has an ear infection. I kinda felt like a dummy. They finally got his temp down to a grand 102.6 before letting us go. Kirk is snotty. We are all gross. And....I need to go to the grocery store because our pantry is barren. Do I have to???

Sorry for my complaints.

Being a mom is hard enough without being sick.

Blah.

I plan to survive using a play pen, pudding snacks, and a movie marathon.

First Birthday!!!!

I have been delaying blogging about this. This birthday was way harder for me than I expected, for several different reasons. I feel like tonight I can blog about it without getting too emotional.

We had planned a party at the park, but of course it was raining. We changed it at the last minute for Pizza Inn because my house is WAY too small to hold even the family. Joey couldn't have cared either way. It was a great party. We had our family there plus a few of our close friends from church. That was way nice. We have friends. haha. There were lots of gifts and cake and happiness. I'm not going to lie, I totally teared up when we sang to him. It was just a great time!

(I am totally stealing this idea from other blogs)

Things Joey likes:
Daddy
Mac and Cheese
Pop-Ice
Hiding in the bathroom
Hannah (his physical therapist)
Flashing those smile at every lady that complements his hair
Big Brother

Things Joey doesn't like:
Anybody taking him from Daddy (including me!)
Chocolate pudding
Socks
Doctors/nurses bothering him
Being hungry
Loud noises
Trying new stretches/therapy

This year has been somewhat of a roller coaster. At General Conference last time there was a talk that questioned "Could it be possible that you need this child as much as this child needs you?" Sometimes I wonder why things have to be so hard. Don't get me wrong, it could be worse, A LOT worse. But, as we have prayed about things, to find comfort and strength, to know what to do to help Joey progress, we have both determined something. Maybe Joey wasn't sent here so that we could help him. Maybe he was sent to our family to help us. His trials have brought us closer as a family and closer to Heavenly Father. Joey has taught us in a special way that prayers are answered, that the priesthood is here, and that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. Although sometimes I get overwhelmed I do know these things are true.

We are getting close to getting a diagnosis for him...(I hope). We went to a orthopedic doctor yesterday and he said something that kind of made me feel a bit better about things. He said that he really didn't care what the exact diagnosis was as long as we had a happy baby that was progressing. And he is....slowly but surely! We've still got a ways to go, but look how far we have come.

I love little Joey. He has blessed our lives and brought so much love to our family.

Happy Birthday, Joey Monster!!!!

General Conference

General Conference Weekend is upon us. I try and get the short people excited about the opportunity to hear the prophet's voice. We try and do a family home evening the week before all about Conference. This ALWAYS includes a first presidency match game. Last night, we did a chain of geneal authorities....can you guys who colored what?
Maybe everybody else knows all about this, but there are these cute General Conference packets available for all ages. So, for all my fellow LDS-ers that weren't aware, I'll share with you. Scriptures4kids.com usually has some good ones, but they were slacking this time. I used parts of their last one along with the one found here. That last link is also were I got the General Authority chain. These are great to have little kids do. Last time, we sat a little table up in the living room and gave Kirk different things to do during each session.....the packet, coloring pages, the matching game I mentioned earlier, and always some snacks! Hope everybody has a great conference weekend!
