Messes, messes
When I lived at home, I tried to keep my room relatively clean. This meant mainly making sure my dirty clothes went into the hamper and that I made my bed. Not a whole lot of work on my part. After I got married, things changed a bit. I had to wash my own clothes, my own dishes, vacuum, dust, and straighten up the whole house. Plus, I had to take care of all the messes my dear husband made too. Then along came Kirky. Messes x 3. Extra dishes, extra laundry. Plus, sometimes I think I am too particular about things to be a mom. I get really upset if there are more than a couple of toys out in the floor. But, somehow I managed. Now, here's Joey. You wouldn't think that a 2 1/2 month old would make much of a difference, but somehow he has. Bottle washings at least once or twice a day. Lots of laundry. Lots of garbages to take out. Plus, holding a crying/snuggling baby makes it harder to keep up with the messes my other 2 make. It may sound like this is just a big complaint, but it is quite the opposite. At the end of the day, before I clean up all the messes, I can look around and know one thing for sure; I have people in my life that I love so much. I don't mind cleaning up for a husband that loves and supports me, a two year old that calls me mommy and sings "Elmo's World" to me, and a little tiny guy that wants me to hold him and love him all day long. I can see my messes and have proof that those that I care about have been there and (usually) enjoyed their day. The messes are bigger than they used to be, but my heart is much fuller.
